Overview
Ford's plastic fuel door pin on the PowerBoost and Maverick Hybrid snaps, and because the pin has no part number of its own, the dealer fix is a whole fuel door assembly that often runs $300 or more. A broken pin means a constant door-open chime, no electric mode, and a fuel door that won't lock.
Our replacement is CNC machined from 6061 aluminum, hard anodized to MIL-PRF-8625F and installed with 316 stainless hardware. A redesigned engagement slot locks more positively, and a reshaped head gets rid of the crunch when you close the door. Install it once and forget about it.

The Ford Hybrid Billet Fuel Door Pin was, as advertised. A nice metal design and easy to install. Before purchasing it, I watched the installation video and it was very easy to follow. Looks like a great product to replace the failing plastic billet fuel door pin.

Aluminum definitely beats plastic. I don’t know why Ford would make the door release so flimsy that a gas dispenser would break it upon shutting off after filling the tank. Best $49 I’ve spent on this truck!
